Bonjour!

Today I want to share with you an architecture design, signed by Isay Weifel – I think he’s one of the architecture masters in Brazil nowadays. He’s also a scenographer, a furniture designer and a motion-picture director.

As an architect I admire his work because I see splendid solutions – simple ideas, forms and technology – he valorizes the plasticity of the architecture language. He sees all possibilities and creates unique ideas…I heart it!!! Daily things nobody thinks of noticing it, he does – he creates, innovates and recycles…

PS: these moving panels…aren’t they fantastic??

Yes girls!!! I found a recipe in a blog – sorry, I don’t remember which one, it was a long time ago – and I was interested cause it’s such an easy recipe and a great solution to my problem (I’ll tell you about my problem later). Have you ever heard about “Mug Cakes”? Well, I made it yesterday and I was impressed: only 3 minutes in the microwave and a pretty little cake is done. Fantastic!! And it’s soooo tasty…I made 3 already!!!

Well, I am a “cake addicted” (that’s my big problem!!) and my nutritionist Dani is controlling my diet, soooo….I decided to create something healthier and much more light than the regular cakes – the recipe turned to this one:

Ingredients: 1 small egg / 4 tablespoons Milk / 3 tablespoons vegetal oil / 4 tablespoons brown suggar / 4 tablespoons whole wheat flour / 1 small grated apple /2 tablespoons chopped nuts – chestnuts or macadamia / cinnamon / 1 teaspoon yeast.

I used a mug like this:

To prepare: beat the egg inside a big mug (like those ones to have soup – 300ml) – then add the oil, sugar, milk and beat them together. After that, beat in the whole wheat flour, the apple, the nuts, cinnamon and the yeast, until it’s fluffy. Put the cake inside the microwave for 3 minutes, in high power. Yes, you bake it inside the same mug that goes to the microwave!!!

You can decorate it as you wish!

- Send a message to admin(at)chria(dot)com(dot)br with the subject “Dudu from Chria Big Contest” and a photo of the Dudu you baked. Inside the message you must send us your mailing address, phone and blog (if you have one);

- It’s not necessary to have your own blog, just send us your e-mail;

- Chria’s employees, directors and everybody linked to Chria can’t participate;

- This contest is worldwide;

- Cris from Chria (architect and artist), and her team will analyze all pictures and the most creative Dudu will be the winner;

- The winner will receive: a Jub, a Crop and a Drops – handmade, embroidered, unique and exclusive pieces…and also a special and sweet surprise from Chria!!!!

- The winner will have a post at Sweetblogchria about his/her Dudu (in case he/she has a blog, we’ll be publishing);

- We’ll announce the winner at October 15^th, until Oct 11^th we’ll be receiving the photos.

Girls!!!

I am very very very happy making this post about a wonderful work we did yesterday; and we are sooooo happy about it!! We created the decoration to Vanessa da Mata’s dressing room and lounge (she’s a great Brazilian singer). She was here yesterday to perform a concert at Expofair (www.expofair.com.br) and, months ago, I offered myself to decorate Expofair’s lounge and the dressing room she was going to use during the show.  They accepted my idea and then I could realize one of my dreams – I’m a big fan of her!!! She looks like Chria!!! It was so good that I could prepare this surprise to her and also enjoy her music and presence!

I’m thankful to everybody that believed in my project: Expofair (for the opportunity and professional work – Cris (this is me, Puppy!!) and Pati – you are great!), Chria’s fairies and my partners (hubby and Graci – they almost got crazy!), Amanda’s grandma who gave us the colored cloths, Iza and Bete who created and developed my dress in a fantastic short time – and it was gorgeous…..well, everybody involved in this project….and, of course, Vanessa da Mata who was fantastic talking to us after the show, in her dressing room, so friendly and nice. This was an unforgettable moment for me and Graci!!!!

Her concert was gorgeous! The songs, her voice, the art, the scenery, the light, the pattern…everything was perfect! Vanessa, congratulations!

There’s only one more thing: a lot of people came to me to say how much they appreciated my work, however, what really makes me happy is to know – feel – and keep strongly believing in those people who work with me – without them, I couldn’t do anything!!!!

Yesterday I met Fernanda Takai (she was here in Blumenau to perform a concert) – and I was very happy to tell her how much I admire her and her work…she was extremely kind and I was surprised when she insisted to open Chria’s gift in front of me!!! It seems she liked it…

Well, this is her album, and she sings Nara Leão songs (Nara Leão was a great Brazilian bossa nova singer, from the 60’s to the 80’s). It’s fantastic!!! Fernanda has a sensitive and fascinating voice. She is simple and unique….just like Chria!

Wednesday starts with great news …we introduce you LampeVive – lampshades created and developed at Chria, with recycled materials. They can be made of aluminum cans, paint cans, cartons…and so many other things that I love giving a new life!

I want to create fascinating objects, with cloths, gluing, embroidery…I want these unique objects to talk and to carry their own history and idea. They will all be special objects!

Well, this is our first object, other ones are coming….soon they will all be at Chria’s website. I couldn’t resist and I took some pictures to show you. In the top you’ll see a poem from a Brazilian famous poet – Manoel Bandeira. Its bottom is a big aluminum can with checked cloth with high quality finishings. The electrical system has all security items and follows all regulations.

Hi girls! Good morning and a great week …

Izabel, a friend – midwife and professional partner – brought a precious material for me: scanned pages from a 1900 fashion magazine – full of valuable information, finishings, handmades…I was impressed when I hold the originals…Iza, my dear friend, thanks for the present and for having the same handmade art passion…

We are now starting to develop clothes at Chria, I try to study and search the most special things to valorize all pieces….soon I’ll tell you more about these clothes. Wait for the news we are preparing for you all!
