I love crazy kitchens!…kitchens???

July 23, 2010

Hello!

…I’m getting crazy around here; the children are on vacation…LOL! Seriously! It’s been crazy, kids coming in, going out…always so happy! But when I get home from the office, I can’t do anything but playing, cooking, being their “doll”, or just controlling their mess in the shower…LOL…when they decide to take a shower together……WOW!

Well, on Monday their classes will begin and my routine goes back to normality. And my posts too!

Making use of this “crazy” period of my life, I found some kitchens made just for me. Conceptual? Dramatic? Playful? I don’t know, but I loooove them!!! They’re so charming, you fell there’s personality on each detail…

Now, my hubby calls me…I must send the kids to bed…LOL

Girls! You get crazy with your friends at home during vacation, don’t you? This is not only my problem, is it? LOL

I wish you all a nice weekend!

The last picture is not a kitchen, but look at the fridge that became a closet! Great! And this atelier/office is also a little crazy, isn’t it?

And in this next picture, there’s a drying machine under the table?!? Next to the oven?!?

I found all this searching on the internet…

Brazilian cornstarch (Maisena) cookies can save lives! Chris Speaks!

May 27, 2010

Girls, sweet friends…today I woke up with a terrible headache, my nose congested, my throat looked like I had swallowed a cat…my body was aching…well, it looked like flu (and I hope it’s just it!).

After sending the girls to school, I saw myself sitting alone at the coffee table, wearing horrible pajamas, my hair was tousled, feeling like doing nothing, listening to Renato Machado on TV (a Brazilian reporter – Renato, I’ve got nothing against you!)…..

Well, I thought about having a hot coffee, and I remembered the “Maisena” cookies I put in Lu’s lunch box…it was my salvation!!!!

Think with me, I haven’t dunked cookies in coffee for a long time! Guys, it’s very good! It’s like if your mom was there taking care of you…you feel comforted and tenderly touched….do I have a fever??? LOL

Understand it as you wish, but I needed to say it here, for you, and to give this advice that can save lives! In case you have flu, PMS, loneliness, headache and other boring things, go for Brazilian cornstarch cookies dunked in coffee, relax and think of nothing…

Have a nice day!

My “three” moms! Thanks!

Hello friends!

First I’d like to wish you a great Mother’s Day!

I’m always touched when I see a mother dedicating herself to her child – it’s so beautiful!

I always think about my grandmas, they were really strong women – and they left a huge legacy.

My father’s mom (Florisvalda) raised 11 kids – she was a farmer in the State of Minas Gerais (Brazil), and she thought us how to live in a simple way and how to grow virtues. She was a fighter…

Malvina, my mother’s mom was a woman ahead of her time, she transcended barriers, prejudices. She was a successful hotelier, and even without going to college, she was respected for that. She helped my aunt Riza (I also thank her a lot) taking care of me and my two brothers when my mom had an accident and my dad had to take care of her in a hospital in Brasília. My brothers and I stayed for almost 2 years in Uberlandia (a city in Minas Gerais)…

Now, almost crying, I speak a little about my mom, and I speak to her (I know she follows my blog).

-      My mom is a fighter! We had a bad car accident – it made her quadriplegic. But she had an amazing recovering! My father and my grandma used to do (my dad still does) everything to help her. My brothers and I grew up watching her overcoming her problems.

I have 2 daughters (Valentina and Luiza) and now I can see everything my mom did (and still does) for us. I can imagine how much she suffered and how much she gave herself, even with all her problems. I can only thank her!!!!

To thank my grandma Florisvalda for teaching me how to be simple and a fighter person, even with all difficulties – I also thank my grandma Malvina for supporting my mom, and for teaching me how to overcome barriers, how to be a strong woman, a fighter and how to go after my goals. Thanks a lot!!

With all happiness in my heart, I thank you mom! And the easiest way is to show who I am, and to tell that, if it wasn’t you, I wouldn’t be like this. I learned a lot from you, and I thank you for every gesture, every word, every effort you made…you’re my hero! I love you so much!!

And now a picture of us, from a long time ago…

Bees’ shadows… – Chris speaks!!!!!

March 29, 2010

Hello friends!

How was your day? My day was *&^”@#$!!??><*#!!! …. LOL

Gals, do you know that difficult day, when you’re so tired cause you couldn’t get a good night sleep; and it ruins your day, your stomach, your head…you try to be creative, you try to produce something, you try to be nice, but you just can’t! Well, my little fairy Lu saw some bees’ shadows flying at the ceiling of her room (I believe it was the shadow of the lamp), and she couldn’t sleep – 3 hours later she fell asleep, so did I…

-          Can somebody tell me what to do with imaginary bees’ shadows??

Well, let’s continue…unexpected surprises at the office, my car was scratched at my kids school, and a traffic jam at the end of the day…nobody deserves something like that! But life is just like this, a terrible day after a gorgeous day…and so on…

But the best is to get home and remember people who colored your day; and then you feel better and hoping for a better tomorrow!

A huge kiss and sorry for all bad energies … – to Fabi (who seats in my left at the office) and to my hubby (who seats in my right); and to Graci and Tati (they both seat in front of me).

Black coffee saved my day, so I post some pics from sweet black coffee, full of good energies from handmade art!

Kisses!!! Merci, I love talking to you!

Hello friends!

I’ve been away these days and I’m very anxious waiting for my new computer…it’ll make everything much better (my work, my researches, posts…) – besides making me much happier LOL – now I’ll post everyday!

You have no idea the domestic fight I have with my little girls to use the computer at home. At work I never have time enough to post and visit my friends’ blogs – and I usually make it at home…and as I told you, the girls love to play (specially now, during vacations) internet games…but tomorrow it will be over! And I’ll show you my new little apple!

So, today I visited a little town called Pomerode (a little German city nearby Blumenau www.pomerode.sc.gov.br), and I was so delighted with it! Everything looked prettier, the sky had such a gorgeous blue color – like I remember when I was a child – those German little houses, with perfect gardens…old people driving their bikes, this lovely landscape – it looked like a real German place. And it’s funny, I’m used to go to Pomerode, but today it was different. I didn’t want to get to my client (I had a meeting with a client, an architecture project). I wanted to enjoy that place for hours…driving, thinking about my life…dreaming…I kept singing Elis Regina, repeating the same song many times. What happened to me? Am I going crazy? LOL

I was so happy, I wanted my camera to take several pictures and share them with you (maybe next time).

Wow, I’m definitely not ashamed of sharing this with you…and I love it!! I also want you to share your thoughts here, with me!

I choose some pics from pleasant moment I had in past – all this and this special day inspired me to make this post to you – hope you like it!

Orange color – Enthusiasm…!

February 1, 2010

Hello! This week starts sooo hot here in south Brazil (Blumenau) and I thought about the Orange color- matches with heat, remembers joy, encouragement, eating more…and talking about décor – I love the possibility to use it in details (cushions, printings, objects, chairs….and in an unique wall).

I used to love orange with chocolate color (now I remember – my brothers’ room, when they were kids – my mom used beige, orange and brown – I loved it…), but I was surprised when I saw orange with pink – it looks great and so sophisticated…but remember: use orange only in details!

I love to create new colors, combinations…to create a new way to look and make a composition – it leaves everything with our personality. But take care! Make some tests; make a brief research about the color meanings…

Well, other pics to inspire us…

Kisses and have a great week!

Chris

Chris Speaks!

Monday…

January 25, 2010

I’m opening a new category in this blog: Chris Speaks…

I just made it up…you know, sometimes I feel like I need to tell you something more – also tell you the boring parts of my life. I look like a fairy, most of the time, but I’m not! LOL…I make mistakes, I get upset, irritated, I’m not cute…things like that.

I also want to share things I believe are wrong, outside my house, at the streets…

So, let’s go! You know those days we just don’t know what to do? This is my day today…I couldn’t start what I wanted, I was irritated with things I shouldn’t be, I ate too much, my desk is such a mess, a thousand things to do, embroidery to finish, a client I forgot to call, the mirror that came wrong…wow!

I stopped it all for a second and tried to think about Katy (my shrink) – like if I were in a therapy session…of course it didn’t work. Then o started the pranayamas (yoga breathing exercises) – it’s good, but it doesn’t last…then I remembered my friend Cris Fernandes – she told me once: “Cris, when you can’t stand it anymore…there’s a gorgeous bakery / confectionery close to your office…go there!” Well, I didn’t go there, but I left office – it was great!!!

I was trying to harp on this, but I figured out I can’t! Sometimes we must change…so I picked my stuff and left. I know, it’s not that easy, just leave the office (sometimes it’s impossible)…but to start something new, a new work, have a change of heart, whatever! In this case, I could run away…there was plenty of work, but my anxiety was too strong, I just left.

Well, I went to the petshop (my mood was sooo good to pick my little dog up – Juju, a Shitzu) – it was so hot…and I found Fayga…LOL…it just changed my mood, I laugh a lot – to laugh is the best therapy!!!

I feel better, but better than that is my idea off writing this all here!

Sweet kisses and tks for listening!

Chris
